Another Great Reason to Homeschool

21 Mar

On TV Brayden heard an advertisement for a program that would be discussing bullying in schools.   Brayden turned to me and innocently asked, “What’s bullying?”

Isn’t it a shame that all children can’t ask this same question?

Not long after Ethan walked into the room.  So I asked him if he knew what bullying was.  At 8 years old, going on 9 years, he too was oblivious.

Perhaps the boys have heard this word as it’s a common one in the media and also a common topic amongst homeschoolers.  They’ve probably even experienced a negative situation with children who displayed bullying characteristics.  But they’ve never been in a situation where they’ve had to endure this kind of behaviour day in and out.  They have the option of walking away from people like this and there’s always a parent nearby to seek additional and immediate support from if necessary.  Sadly children in schools don’t have these options.

What a blessed life homeschooled children live.
