After being postponed twice…

29 Jan

Guess what finally started today?

28-29 JAN 071 (Small)

The Lifeline Bookfest.  YAY!

There were books as far as the eye could see

28-29 JAN 056 (Small)

…and further still!

28-29 JAN 058 (Small)

and this was only one of the THREE rooms!

28-29 JAN 062 (Small)

We managed two rooms in 7 hours.  Yes 7 hours!

28-29 JAN 063 (Small)

And my Big Man and Little Men were there the whole time.

28-29 JAN 065 (Small)

When they weren’t treasure hunting, they rested with Daddy on the floor up against a wall.

28-29 JAN 060 (Small)

Other times they sat and read like kids in a candy store.

28-29 JAN 064 (Small)

As soon as we got home they plonked down in the entrance hall next to the book bags and read some more.

28-29 JAN 069 (Small)

I must say we are definitely getting less value each year for much much more money.   The best years were the early years of the Bookfest.  For the price I paid today we could have filled three of these stripey bags to the brim!

28-29 JAN 072 (Small)

Ah but it wasn’t a bad haul.  I achieved my main goal of finding some Australian history books.  Everything beyond that was icing on the cake.

Ethan was delighted that he found the very computer book that he’d put on his wishlist just this week.

Brayden found several Franklin and Berenstein Bears books that he didn’t already have plus plenty of new favourites.

They both enjoyed the Bookfest and did very well enduring all 7 hours of it.

28-29 JAN 073 (Small)

This was only the first day of the Bookfest though.  It continues until the 6th February.  So you’ve got all week to dash down there to collect yourself some treasures.

Now to clean my new treasures and find them homes on our shelves.

Oh what dedicated Men you have! I am waiting patiently for the day i can attend a book sale like this (in a capital city!!)without losing my place to a nappy change or “little legs that don’t go very fast” 😉 – won’t be long now, will definately have to pack supplies if we are to ever accomplish a mission of your epic proportions. And is that a new bookshelf i can hear you F.I.L planning for you? LOL 🙂

Nah there’s no big walls left for more bookshelves. This house is full of glass – windows and massive glass sliding doors. Wasted wall space I say. Hmmm…there is Hubby’s tv wall. It would be perfect for a bookshelf. But he said, “Over his dead body”. Phooey.

It could work, book shelf ALL around the TV, you’ll have to google the ikea catalogue, they have some cool looking ones i bet you FIL could whip up, and what about all the small walls, i see plenty of narrow bookshelf space in your photos 🙂
