Brainpop Subscription

08 Feb

We have been drooling over Brainpop for a while now.  Ethan’s been on his knees begging for a subscription for even longer.

So when our Matheletics subscription ran out, we didn’t renew it.  (We didn’t use it all that often.  Just not enough guts to it.  We’d rather do real Maths on paper.)

Anyway…I surprised the boys with the Brainpop subscription earlier this week.  They were super excited and we sat and watched several videos straight away.

We even found a video that complemented our lessons this week.  I can see us getting much more use out of this subscription.

OH I should explain what Brainpop is.  It’s an educational website that contains stacks of animated videos on just about everything.  There’s also lots of follow up activities, quizzes and printables.

My boys love the main characters Tim and Moby.  They think Moby is hilarious.

Since my boys are such visual learners videos are a great way for them to learn.   Ethan particularly loves their “Engineering and Technology” section.  It’s the key reason he’s wanted access to this website for so long.

So if you don’t see us around for a while it’s because we’re off getting square eyes over at Brainpop.  Hehehe.
