Note to the Distracted in Church

03 Apr

Please stop.

Please focus.

Please remember you are there to worship our Father.

Be totally with your Father for that hour or so.

It’s not such a long time.

Be on time.

Take your seat as soon as you see the Worship leaders move to the front.

Reduce your distractions.

Turn off your mobile phones and check your messages later.

Consume your cups of coffee and refreshments before or after the service.

Catch up with your friends then too.

Stay in the service and refrain from wandering in and out as you think of things you deem more important.

If it were your favourite artist or a famous personality, you wouldn’t miss a minute.

Simply –

Please give all of your attention to God.

Or at the very least sit out of my line of sight so I am not interrupted by your lack of honour for our Creator and Saviour.

Be still and recall that He is God.

Honour Him.  Praise Him.

Exalt Him as more important than your distractions.

And allow those around you to do the same…

Please.

My prayer for you in love and some frustration.

    🙂

… and please don’t get your knickers in a knot about little things when you leave the building.

That’s the key – Remembering the whole reason you are there in the first place – and focusing on that – making sure that the little things don’t become more important than God Himself.
