Our Remaining Silkworms

11 Sep

We have parted with most of our silkworms and have only kept around 50 of the little darlings.

We’re preparing for the pupa stage now.

We’ve cut up toilet tubes to make 50ish little places our silkworms might like to cocoon.

With their increasing size it’s now much easier to see them moulting and find their discarded skins.

Each silkworm is over an inch and a half long, closer to two inches when they stretch out.

It’s amazing how much they’ve grown!

Their ‘frass’ is getting much bigger too!

You knew there had to be a gross picture eventually.  I’m renown for them.

Hey, I’m a mum of boys!!
