It seems that wherever children go they leave a trail behind them.
Hmmm…cutting and creating evidence on the mat…someone’s been here!
School books still on the dining room table. Chair out. They must have left in a hurry.
Dishes on the bench…clearly their legs were too tired to deliver them to the sink.
Yep, they’ve been here too!
Who knows what they were doing in this room but they were clearly in here!
Either that or we’ve been ransacked!
Building Lego, and using various technology happened in the lounge.
Okay so that’s my mail on the arm of the chair and my red book on the far chair.
I clearly followed them into this room.
Seriously. Children can be a major problem in the homeschooling household. They spread out across the house and spend all day there – playing, learning, creating, exploring, eating, loving, probably running, definitely yelling and only occasionally sleeping.
What’s a mother to do?!
Then appears a child.
“Can I use the computer?”
Says the wise, “no flies on her” mother, “Sure, just as soon as you tidy the mess on the mat”.
Eager to use the computer, Child 1 dashes off to seek my approval.
Child 2 gets wind of computer time being on offer and asks what he needs to clean to gain some time in front of an electronic box.
Before long, the many desires of the children clean all corners of the house.
…well except those rooms which are Mummy’s mess.
We’ll just close the door on those rooms.
P.S. Hubby is very pleased he didn’t feature in this post. Suffice it to say, it’s not because he’s tidy. He’s in wholehearted agreement with this statement. 🙂
