Out With the Old, In With the New

Bye Bye old, less than reliable station wagon.

HELLO spiffy new car!

The last car we bought was eleven years ago when Brayden was born.

The boys have grown considerably since then.

My new baby is another Ford…of course.

Is there any other car type?!

Hubby was thrilled with his purchase.

He spent ages pressing all the buttons and playing with his new toy.

The boys are delighted with their cup holders

but they’re delusional if they think they are ever drinking or eating in this car!!

Me, I’m pleased that my new car can be trusted and

that it doesn’t splutter like my old one.

In actual fact this new car purrs like a tiger

I think I’m in love.

We bought a new car last year. The reason….fear….I was afraid that I would not be able to get home. Fear can be a great motivator. I love reading your blog!

That’s essentially the reason we needed a new car too. On the last trip to the mechanic, he told us that some very expensive bit was about to leave us in the lurch. He said it could go tomorrow or next week or next month. Thankfully it held on for 7 months while we were organising the new car, but it was a stressful 7 months. Every new noise made me fear the worst. Now I don’t need to worry at all. In fact, today I went out without RACQ on my car. Shock horror! Something I would never do in my old car. In the old car we always packed water and snacks on every trip, just in case we were on the side of the road for quite some time. So nice to feel safe again.

What an exciting time. We don’t get to upgrade our car very often either, however we did about 18months ago & we are still really excited about our “new” (although now not so new) car. It still feels new to us – ENJOY!

Yep, as homeschoolers we have to be a bit more frugal about our purchases, assessing whether they are ‘needs’ or just ‘wants’. But after 11 years, a car purchase became a desperate need. Pretty is nice but reliable is essential.
