Housework isn’t (shouldn’t be) the top of a homeschooler’s agenda.
There are more important things to do each day.
There are books to be read,
and Science and Art projects to do.
If you drop in unannounced, you are not going to find a spread from Belle Magazine.
So mind your step, or better still phone ahead.
You see, as a homeschooler, I have to prioritise my time, and my children come before my floors
Housework has to be done, a little at a time, when there is a moment.
It’s always a work in progress.
But then, at the end of the day, if there’s oomph left, we all dig in and restore order
…Well, almost. 🙂
That’s just how it is in a homeschooler’s home.

This post made me smile. We tidy up before the day starts and at the end of the day. In the middle of the day my house looks trashed…but it’s not really. It’s scattered with beautiful books, math sheets, dirty dishes which once held good food…and many other bits and pieces.
And Yes….PHONE AHEAD PLEASE VISITORS!

I’m the same. Dishes, beds, and a load of washing before school, and then restorative procedures after school. Often, most of the mess belongs to the kids.
People come and visit and always comment about how clean the house is, thinking it looks like that all the time. It doesn’t. It’s most definitely lived in during the day.
